Conversion from MapSourceTXT to SHP
Upload your Garmin MapSource - txt data files (typically used in software like Garmin) and convert them online in a few clicks to ESRI Shapefile format (most commonly used in software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Tableau, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Global Mapper or other software for displaying and processing GIS data) or to many other formats commonly used in GIS and CAD systems.
How it works
-
Data upload
Upload one or more Garmin MapSource - txt files (or a .ZIP / .7z archive).
-
Review and display
Reviewing input data parameters and displaying their extent on a map.
-
Conversion options
Settings for format options and conversion parameters.
-
Download result
Resulting SHP files are packaged in ZIP format and ready for immediate download by the user.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is SHP file?
The ESRI Shapefile format is one of the most widely used formats for storing vector geospatial data, originally developed by Esri for its ArcGIS software. A shapefile represents geographic features such as points, lines, and polygons, along with their associated attribute data. Unlike many modern formats, a shapefile consists of multiple separate files (most importantly .shp, .shx, and .dbf), which together define the geometry, index, and attribute information of the dataset. Despite being an older format with some limitations — such as lack of support for advanced geometry types or large datasets — it remains a de facto standard in GIS and is supported by virtually all major GIS software, including ArcGIS, QGIS, and other tools.
What is the maximum allowed size of input data?
The maximum size of the uploaded file is 5 GB. If your file is larger, you can try to compress it into a ZIP file with the maximum compression level (9) or, even better, into a 7z file. The contents of the package will be automatically unpacked on the server.
How secure is my data?
All data transfers are performed using the encrypted SSL protocol, which ensures secure data transfer. Both uploaded and converted data is temporarily stored in the data center and is further processed according to the user’s request. After some time, the data is automatically deleted - there is no need to delete it manually.
