Frequently Asked Questions
What is FIT file?
The FIT (Flexible and Interoperable Data Transfer) format is a compact binary file format developed by Garmin for recording, storing, and sharing fitness and activity data. It is commonly used by Garmin devices such as sports watches, bike computers, and fitness trackers to log information like GPS position, speed, heart rate, cadence, and elevation. FIT files are designed to be efficient, reliable, and easily extensible, allowing developers to include custom data fields. Users typically encounter FIT files when uploading activities to platforms such as Garmin Connect, Strava, TrainingPeaks, or other fitness analysis applications that support the format.
What is the maximum allowed size of input data?
The maximum size of the uploaded file is 5 GB. If your file is larger, you can try to compress it into a ZIP file with the maximum compression level (9) or, even better, into a 7z file. The contents of the package will be automatically unpacked on the server.
How secure is my data?
All data transfers are performed using the encrypted SSL protocol, which ensures secure data transfer. Both uploaded and converted data is temporarily stored in the data center and is further processed according to the user’s request. After some time, the data is automatically deleted - there is no need to delete it manually.
